School of Berea 2018: Panorama of Prophecy — A Testimony to Jesus

Berea was home to those believers who “received the Word with great eagerness,” who were “examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so” (Acts 17.11 NASB). The School of Berea will be a weekend of poring over the Scriptures, looking at topics that have challenged Christians through the ages. They are so foundational, that they must be examined eagerly and diligently.

This short series on prophecy will seek to move beyond the somewhat simplistic (and erroneous) view that the prophet was merely looking into the future and reporting what he saw. We will seek to explore the prophet’s calling and the profound phenomenon of the invisible spiritual realm invading and shaping the very fabric of history i.e. the inexorable movement of God’s Kingdom. We will particularly explore and develop the angelic dictum: The testimony to Jesus is the spirit of prophecy! (Revelation 19:10). We invite you on a marvelous journey as we travel the scriptures, tracking through the prophetic oracles, ever building and focusing on Jesus, who is raised higher than all the heavens, and destined to fill the whole universe with his presence (Ephesians 4:10).
