Weekend in the Word 2017: God’s Design for Men and Women
March 31, 2017 - April 2, 2017
Weekend in the Word is an annual weekend retreat, whereby believers of all ages are presented with hands-on, practical teaching in one of three areas: evangelism, Scripture, and personal living.
The object of this year’s course is to look at the God-given hierarchy for gender roles: before the fall, after the fall, in marriage, in the home, in the church and finally in courtship. We will spend time in Genesis 1 – 3 looking at the roles God gave to the genders in His perfect creation in the garden — before the fall, and immediately after the fall. From Titus 2, we will look at the high calling of women in the home, and then over to Ephesians 5 where we will look at the roles in marriage. In 1 Timothy we will look at the roles of both genders in the church and finally in 1 Thessalonians 4 we will look at courtship. I hope by the end of this course we all will find freedom, assurance, even boldness, to stand firm in our God-given roles as men and women.
